Nevada Travel Guides

Nevada is quite a unique state. It’s the driest state in the country, and has the highest percentage of land owned by the federal government. At the same time, it’s very well known for Las Vegas, which is considered to be the entertainment capital of the world.

While I do think Las Vegas can be fun in the right circumstances, I’m much more interested in the outdoor opportunities across the state. Valley of Fire State Park is one of the most beautiful state parks in the country, and it’s a short drive from Las Vegas. Red Rock Canyon is another beautiful place to hike just outside of the city.

Nevada is also home to a stunning national park: Great Basin. The park is home to the last glacier left in Nevada, alpine lakes, mountain peaks, a beautiful cave, and more. It’s remote, but I certainly think it’s worth a visit.

See below for guides on exploring this special state.

Las Vegas is the most iconic city in the state! Even if gambling isn't your thing, I think it's worth seeing at least once. I'm not into casinos, but there are some really neat places to explore throughout the area.
