Minnesota Travel Guides

Minnesota is a great state for adventures. From snowmobiling to hiking on the North Shore, the people there really embrace time outside year round.

Minnesota is known as the state of 10,000 lakes and is home to Mall of America, the world’s largest freshwater port, and much more. The Twin Cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul, make up the largest metroplex in the state.

I spent over a month based in Duluth and absolutely loved hiking along the North Shore, camping in Voyageurs National Park, visiting St. Cloud, and more. Minnesota is so much fun for outdoor adventures, and should certainly be on your Midwest bucket list.

Best Time to Visit Minnesota

Minnesota is great to visit year round, it just depends on what you’re interested in! The state gets very cold in the winter, so you’ll want to plan accordingly. However, in the winter you may be able to participate in activities such as snowmobiling, visiting ice castles, ice fishing and more.

Spring in Minnesota is a hopeful time when flowers bloom and the region begins to thaw.

Summer is a fantastic time for outdoor enthusiasts. You can enjoy kayaking, camping, hiking and more. Just be sure to pack your insect repellent - the mosquitoes can be quite bad.

Fall brings stunning fall foliage and a fantastic time of year for hiking.

Minnesota North Shore

A North Shore road trip is one of the best things to do in Minnesota! The North Shore refers to the 150 mile stretch along Lake Superior between Duluth and Canada. The area has rocky beaches, epic hikes, cute small towns, cozy cabins, and more.

St Cloud, Minnesota

St. Cloud is known as the ‘Granite City’ and as a college town. I had an amazing time exploring the outdoor adventures that this area has to offer!
